Sand Dune

2019, the Netherlands.

Sand Dune is a 40-minute structured improvisational, site-specific performance developed and presented in the sand dunes near Amsterdam. The work continues the collaborative research into performance methodology initiated in 2017 by I-Chi Lin, Wei-Ling Hung, and Pien Vrijhof.

The performance explores the relationship between the human body and the landscape, measuring time and space through elemental acts of movement and sound. As the performers traverse the scale of the Dutch dunes, physical action unfolds into a shared ritual. The body becomes a medium through which gravity, wind, and the ongoing dialogue between ground and sky shape perception — forming a “landscape of the soul” where thought, presence, and connection emerge through embodied experience.
